The Society for the Defence of Freedom of speech was founded following the petition initiative Stop censorship. Our mission is to promote freedom of speech as basic conditions of democracy and to defend against new forms of censorship on social networks, which become the main public forums for civil discussions.
Společnost pro obranu svobody projevu byla založena v návaznosti na petiční iniciativu Stop cenzuře. Naším posláním je podpora svobody slova jako základní podmínky demokracie a obrana proti novým formám cenzury na sociálních sítích, které se stávají hlavními veřejnými fóry občanské diskuse.
The purpose of the Institute is to promote freedom of expression as a fundamental right enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of the Czech Republic, both directly and indirectly. The purpose of the Institute's activities is to organise informational educational and social events, publishing activities, analysis and surveys and presentations, linking organizations and individuals active in defence of civil liberties and cooperation with similar organisations abroad.
Předmětem činnosti ústavu jsou veškeré činnosti, které slouží k naplňování jeho účelu, kterým je podpora svobody projevu jako základního práva zakotveného v Listině práv a svobod ČR, a to přímou i nepřímou formou. Předmětem činnosti ústavu je zejména, tedy nikoli výlučně, pořádání informačně vzdělávacích a společenských akcí, publikační činnost, tvorba analýz a průzkumů a jejich prezentace, propojování organizací i jednotlivců působících v oblasti obrany občanských svobod a spolupráce s podobnými organizacemi v zahraničí.
