Our 9th annual time to dance digital season featured youth performers ranging in ages from 5 to 18 years old (culled from local dance studios) and community member volunteer performers. Due to pandemic restrictions, auditions, rehearsals, and filming sessions occurred in small groups and in some cases virtually. Pivoting to a digital season allowed for collaboration with local business to be backdrops for the ballet performances presented. For instance, a cheese freezer in a local shop became the set for the mice to scare clara during the nutcracker. The snow scene choreographer used video editing to create the illusion that snowflakes danced together in a blizzard when in reality, the dancers performed for the camera socially spaced.
